AIRSKIN® Product and Applications

  • YES, AIRSKIN® complies with UL 1740:2018, ANSI/RIA R15.06-2012, CAN/CSA-Z434-14 + GI1 according to TÜV Rheinland

  • AIRSKIN® is shipped to you in a box as an add-on safety device. The products for the specific robot models contain everything to upgrade the robot: AIRSKIN® pads, our support layer to mount everything onto the robot, cables, tools, installation instructions and certifications. 

  • Because we use AIR inside an airtight SKIN as medium to detect deformation anywhere on the outer surface of our AIRSKIN® pads in collision situations. 

  • When you want to gain space and flexibility, and want to get rid of the fence around the robot.

  • Yes, we have a case where AIRSKIN® modules are operational in an oily/dusty industrial environment, now for more than 5 years.

  • No. There are only collaborative applications, as the robot, tool, workpiece and the surrounding have to be considered.

  • You can connect up to 15 AIRSKIN® pads in series.

  • AIRSKIN® does this visually via LED codes shown on each AIRSKIN® pad. Please see the AIRSKIN® Manual or our youtube channel.

  • AIRSKIN® and the AIRSKIN® safety flange (compliant safety device mounted between robot flange and tool) will reduce the nominal payload of the robot for about 10 - 20 % due to the added AIRSKIN®  weight on Axis 6 and Axis 3-5.

  • No. The AIRSKIN® pads are connected only via a 6 core cable (24V, ground, safety channel 1 IN, OUT, safety channel 2 IN, OUT). Each AIRSKIN® pad gets its air via an embedded micro pump from the surroundings to do selftests.

Distribution, Service, Maintenance

  • Yes, please contact our sales team or your local KUKA, Stäubli or Epson partner. 

    Together we will make sure that the end-customer is connected with the right integration partner who can deliver a safe, certified, hiqh-quality application which meets your requirement regarding productivity and budget.

  • Warranty (Gewährleistung) is 12 month. We offer a 3-Year All-Inclusive Service package with spare parts.

  • Currently we offer AIRSKIN® worldwide (North and South-America, Europe, Asia). Please contact us for your specific request. 

  • At least once a year visual check and cleaning has to be done. We suggest to combine the yearly inspection of the robot with AIRSKIN® maintenance, as the AIRSKIN® has to be removed from the robot anyway.
